STANDING STRONG!
FILLMORE & JAPANTOWN
Our previous community anthology included prose, poetry and visuals by African Americans and Japanese Americans. They explored multiple layers of displacement in two adjoining San Francisco neighborhoods that have been impacted by immigration, World War II incarceration and migration, redevelopment, and gentrification.
The book was developed through Write Now! creative writing groups that brought together beginning and experienced writers from 12-year-old Xiomara Larkin to San Francisco Foundation literary prizewinners Lindsey Ellis and Jennifer Hasegawa.
